When our College Basketball (CBB) experts have important information or updates on individual players, injuries, match-ups, positions, or other specific aspects of a sport, they share it in a Spotlight. These articles provide in-depth analysis on how to reveal hidden value in the world of daily fantasy sports. This is where you will find key advantages that can launch your lineups to the top of your contests.
Today’s spotlight is going to be on something that everyone should be very excited about, minimum priced value! Far too often in DFS is there too many stars that you want to roster, but not enough good value to allow you to do so. Value is particularly difficult to find today on Fanduel, but there are two seperate players at minimum price that we think you should consider rostering to make paying up for your favorite studs more possible. The first of which, Henrik Jadersten is only available on Draftkings because Fanduel is not covering the California/Santa Clara contest. Jadersten... Read More
With NBA currently on a break, I decided to take a break from writing about fantasy sports and write an article about UNC basketball. Recently, I engaged in a debate with some classmates about whether or not Isaiah Hicks was all that important to the UNC basketball team. The debate didn’t get anywhere because none of us really came prepared with any data. Since then, I’ve compiled the necessary data to make the case against Hicks’ importance. This all started when Hicks was ruled out an hour and a half before the UNC @ Duke game on February 9th. None... Read More
#1 Virginia vs. #4 Iowa State Virginia is a defensive powerhouse. The Cavaliers rank fourth in the NCAA in defensive efficiency and play at one of the slowest tempos in the nation. Virginia is led by the ACC Player of the Year Malcolm Brogdon and senior forward Anthony Gill. On the other side of the ball, Iowa State plays at a much faster tempo. Defense is more of an afterthought for Cyclones, but ISU offers a balanced offensive attack with six different players averaging double figures. The Cyclones are headlined by senior forward Georges Niang and junior guard Monte Morris.... Read More
#2 Villanova vs. #3 Miami Villanova looked like a defensive machine against Iowa last weekend. The Wildcats, who rank 8th in the country in defensive efficiency, suffocated the Iowa offense on their way to a blowout win. The defense that showed up last Sunday could have held some NBA teams (perhaps their struggling fellow Philadelphians – the 76ers) under 100 points. Miami didn’t disappoint either in their impressive win over Wichita State. After jumping out to a 27-6 lead, they let the Shockers come all the way back to take the lead late in the second half.... Peter Jok (DK: $6,500, FD: $6,700): The Iowa offense is really a two-man show. Jared Uthoff gets most of the glamor, but Peter Jok has been a steady contributor for the Hawkeyes. He ranks 79th in the country in usage rage (Uthoff 48th). He gets up around 15 shots per game and has been trying his luck from deep recently. He shoots the deep ball at 40% and has attempted 26 over his last three games. Iowa will need him to step up against a stout Villanova defense. Our research suggests that If there is one area where Villanova does... Read More
