When our eSports experts have important information or updates on individual players, injuries, match-ups, positions, or other specific aspects of a sport, they share it in a Spotlight. These articles provide in-depth analysis on how to reveal hidden value in the world of daily fantasy sports. This is where you will find key advantages that can launch your lineups to the top of your contests.
Echo Fox vs. Dignitas (DK: Echo Fox: $5,700 Dignitas: $3,600): Echo Fox wasn’t a team that you wanted to draft from a few weeks ago, but it has drastically improved. This week Echo Fox will take on Dignitas, which should be a relatively easy matchup for them. Two players that we highly recommend are Froggen (DK: $7,900) and KEITH (DK: $8,000). Both of these players have carried Echo Fox to victory plenty of times this year, as this weekend should be no different. Froggen, in particular, is an extremely valuable pick here. He has a 5.4 KDA and extremely high kill participation at 87.5%. If you’ve watched Echo Fox play, you might have noticed that they will feed kills to Froggen, so that he can carry them in the late game. This is perfect to obtain fantasy points. KEITH, on the other hand, leads Echo Fox in kills with 43. He also has high kill participation at 79.6%. If Echo Fox continues its trend of improvement and beats Dignitas on Saturday, KEITH and Froggen will be picking up a ton of fantasy points.
If you want to bet on the upset with a Dignitas win, pick up Shiphtur (DK: $6,100). Shiphtur leads Dignitas in kills with 48, and has a 4.3 KDA. Shiphtur has played well this tournament, but it will come down whether or not the rest of his team can help him pick up kills. With a Dignitas win, Shiphtur will be the one carrying them in kills and assists.
Cloud9 vs. Counter Logic Gaming (DK: Cloud9: $4,800 Counter Logic Gaming: $4,500): Sunday’s matchup between CLG and C9 is going to be a battle of heavyweights. CLG and C9 are both 9-4 and are battling it out for sole possession of second place in the NA LCS. We expect this to be a tightly contested matchup between these two teams. CLG is coming off of a win against the NA LCS’s number one team, Immortals. CLG played from behind all game, only holding the gold lead once in the 42 minute game. However, CLG still secured 21 FPTS. Beyond just FPTS, CLG maintained great composure and team play to secure the victory. In last week’s matchups, C9 averaged 40 minute long games. CLG thrives in the late game, so look for them to take advantage of C9’s weakness and extend the game into the late game phase. Overall, CLG is coming off an amazing saturday game and is playing very team oriented. Look for CLG to win a long, tightly contested matchup on sunday, and to secure a signficant amount of fantasy points for your lineup.
Our favorite member of CLG on this slate is Xmithie (DK: $5,900). Xmithie is probably the most reliable jungler you can have in your lineup, posting an average of 19.8 FPTS. Xmithie is second in KDA for junglers in the NA LCS with a 5.0, second in Creep Score Per Minute with 4.2, and first in total Creep Score with 1,881. Xmithie should play a huge role in this close matchup, and with his price, he will very likely exceed value.
TSM vs. Echo Fox (DK: TSM: $5,200 Echo Fox: $4,100): TSM and Echo Fox play on Saturday and it may be a much closer game than many people imagine. Just a couple of weeks ago, Echo Fox was one of the bottom tier teams and wouldn’t have stood a chance against TSM. However, with Echo Fox’s main roster in play, they have greatly improved and have finally started winning games. This could make the TSM vs. Echo Fox game a close matchup, and a good place to look for points. TSM is second in kills this tournament, and they have a much better early-game rating than Echo Fox which should set them ahead early on and allow for some easy points. Although it could be a close game, TSM still beats Echo Fox overall in kills in every lane and looks like they could definitely take the game out of Echo Fox’s hands.
For TSM, we would recommend picking up Doublelift (DK: $7,600). Doublelift has the second most kills out of any ADC and a 70.9% kill participation. If it comes down to a close game, Doublelift will be the one picking up many of the kills to grab the win. TSM and Echo Fox like to keep games long at around 36 minutes so this will be plenty of time for Doublelift to shine.
Hauntzer (DK: $6,700): Hauntzer is an important pick for TSM as he is second in kills for top laners and he has played extremely well this tournament. He also outperforms Echo Fox’s top laner, KFO, and should be able to grab some kills off of him early game. If the game plays out late he should be picking up a ton of assists with the help of Doublelift. These picks should help set you up for a strong lineup.
If you believe in Echo Fox to take the win look to pick up Froggen (DK: $6,700). Froggen has a 9.4 KDA and an incredible 89.2% kill participation which is the highest for mid laners. Echo Fox has shown us that they like to give kills to Froggen and let him carry their team. So if Echo Fox gets any lead it will most likely be due to Froggen getting many of the kills and continuing to put up points into the late game.
