Curtis Blaydes (DK: $9,400 FD: $23): Our Must-Have comes into this fight with a 13-2-1 record and is 8-2-1 in the UFC. In his thirteen wins, he’s won by (T)KO ten times and by decision in the other three. Blaydes is currently a -400 favorite with -210 odds to win this fight inside the distance.
Curtis “Razor” Blaydes is a NCAA National Champion wrestler that has improved on his striking since switching over into MMA. Blaydes uses his wrestling to his advantage, as he takes down pretty much all of his opponents. He then finishes them with ground and pound or tires them out so much, that he can then finish them on the feet. His only two defeats have come to the most dangerous man in the world in Francis Ngannou. So, you can’t really hold them against him as no one is going to take a punch from him.
Now, Blaydes faces another top ten heavyweight in Alexander Volkov. Volkov didn’t look that great in his last fight against Hardy, a way lower caliber of a fighter compared to Blaydes. With Volkov not being able to put Hardy away, we aren’t worried about him putting away Blaydes either. Blaydes should use his wrestling and take Volkov down, then finish it on the ground early or on the feet after beating him up on the mat. Make sure to lock Curtis Blaydes in all formats as our daily fantasy MMA Must-Have.
