Sean “The Sniper” Woodson’s original opponent, Kyle Nelson, had to withdraw from the fight due to visa issues. His new opponent, Julian Erosa, is stepping into this fight on about four days notice. Woodson is a stand-up fighter that uses his insane pace and cardio to wear on his opponent. In his UFC debut, he was able to land 111 significant strikes. Sean is tall and rangy for the division, standing 6’2” and having a 79” reach, and he uses these advantages along with his outstanding boxing technique to pick his opponents apart from range. Woodson has endless cardio and pushes a fast pace similar to Max Holloway. His opponent is making his 3rd stint in the UFC and has a similar style of fighting as Woodson but is nowhere near as technical. Erosa is very chinny and has been knocked-out five times in his pro MMA career with three of them coming in the UFC. He was also knocked out on The Ultimate Fighter season 22 by Artem Lobov which doesn’t count toward his pro MMA record. Woodson is not a one-strike knockout artist; his knockouts are usually due to an accumulation of strikes. We expect Woodson’s pace and superior striking to be too much for Erosa, with Woodson either getting a KO at some point or peppering Erosa for three rounds accumulating a ton of significant strikes.
