Edmen “The Golden Boy” Shahbazyan is taking on the UFC veteran Derek Brunson, who’s a step up in competition for him. The 22-year-old Shahbayzan is a future title contender and is coached by Ronda Rousey and Edmond Tarverdyan. He is the new generation of fighter who has ground-up training just MMA. Shahbayzan is a finisher with a 90% finish rate with all them coming in the first round.  He is a well-rounded fighter who is tall (6’2”) and athletic. Not only does he have good striking, but he has the ability to mix in wrestling. Shahbayzan averages 6.77 takedowns per 15 minutes, but we don’t expect him to land many if any takedowns this fight as his opponent has successfully defended every takedown he’s faced over his UFC and Strikeforce career. On the feet, Edmen should be able to use his power and technical striking to pick apart Brunson. Brunson has been knocked out in five of his seven losses, with his last three coming via head kick. Edmen’s won his last fight via head kick, so he does have that in his arsenal. In Brunson’s last couple fights, he’s been more of a stick-and-move fighter, trying to avoid the big shot, but with this fight being in the small 25-foot octagon, it will be hard for Brunson to stick and move. We expect Edmen to come out strong in the 1st round and swarm Brunson and get that knockout victory. Lock Edmen Shahbazyan into all formats for both DraftKings and FanDuel.
