It’s time to pull out the old bell-bottom pants and fire up that Trans-Am because NASCAR is throwing it back this weekend in Darlington. NASCAR will pay respect to its past by running its annual throwback weekend, featuring old school paint schemes and a different broadcast for the viewers. Darlington is a pinnacle race for everyone in the field, and being only two races until the playoffs, it makes for an exciting race to the finish.

Denny Hamlin (DK: $9,900 FD: $11,600): One of the best drivers in recent history here at Darlington just landed on the pole for Sunday night’s race. Hamlin owns a driver rating of 110.3, with an average finish of near fifth place. Over the last three races, he’s finished no worse than fourth, while leading more than 120 laps last year on his way to the win. Earning the pole gives you the best track position you could ask for, but in addition it give you the best pit stall on this narrow pit road. The timing lines for pit road here are very compact compared to other tracks and it enables the pole sitter to basically ensure holding the lead or gaining positions during the pit stops. While he has never sat on the pole here in the Cup series, he has sat on the pole here five times in the Xfinity series and won each and every one of those starts. The team was able to unload a very quick car this weekend and while his teammate Kyle Busch seems to be the car to beat Sunday night, he’ll have his hands full with Hamlin throughout the race. The Toyota camp has owned this place over the last few years and it shows no signs of slowing down in 2018 led by Denny Hamlin as he looks to go back to back as our daily fantasy NASCAR Must-Have of the race.
