Kevin Durant (FDraft: $17,800 DK: $9,500 FDuel: $10,900): Our first Must-Have tonight is the Golden State Warrior forward Kevin Durant. Durant will be without teammates Steph Curry and Klay Thompson tonight, and should be in line for a huge game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Without the Splash Brothers on the floor this season, KD has sported a 42% usage rate and has produced 1.69 fantasy points per minute. We have Durant projected around 35 minutes tonight, giving him plenty of time to crush value. His matchup with the Clippers is promising, as the Clips have been very average this season defending wings. They rank 18th in fantasy points allowed to opposing forwards, and also rank 20th in opponent points per game. The Warriors are currently 12 point favorites, but we are not concerned with this knowing that if Golden State does build a large lead, Durant will be a major part of the scoring. Lock him into your lineups this evening.
Bobby Portis (FDraft: $9,000 DK: $4,700 FDuel: $4,900): Our second Must-Have this evening is the Chicago Bulls power forward Bobby Portis. Portis is a Must-Have yet again tonight due to the illness currently troubling Nikola Mirotic and keeping him out. The Bulls face off against the New York Knicks tonight in a game we expect Chicago to rely on Portis with a heavy load of minutes. Though we only expected 25 minutes from Portis last game, he surprised us with 33 minutes played, which is roughly what we now project him to play tonight. Without Mirotic, Portis sees a 2% usage increase and a 0.05 fantasy point per minute increase as well. These add on to his already stellar baseline stats of 29% usage rate and 1.31 fantasy points per minute production, which excites us about his ceiling tonight. The Knicks have been solid this season on the defensive end of the floor, but in what we believe will be a competitive game between the two squads, Portis should be asked to carry a heavy offensive load and should be a centerpiece in your lineups tonight.
