Auston Matthews (DK: $7700 FD: $8600): The Toronto Maple Leafs will host the New Jersey Devils tonight and no matter how you look at this slate, Matthews cannot be faded. Auston Matthews is on a tear like no other with 15 goals in 21 games since new coach Sheldon Keefe was hired. Where Matthews has been significantly dominant this season is on home ice. As no one, literally no one, has been able to stop him from scoring in Toronto. Toronto has had 22 home games this season, in those 22 games Matthews has scored 24 goals. Yes, he is actually averaging more than a goal per game. No other player in the league is currently accomplishing this. Not only has he been scoring at home all season but he is currently on a run that is hard to believe. Matthews has now scored a goal on home ice in 7 straight games (someone needs to find out what the record is). Four of those seven games were multi-goal games, so over the last 7 home games Matthews has managed to score 11 goals while tacking on an additional 4 assists. New Jersey is one of the worst teams in the league giving up 3.38 goals per game this season (30th in the league). Meanwhile, since Keefe became head coach, the Leafs are averaging 4.05 goals per game, a lot of this has been from Matthews and fellow line mate, Mitch Marner. Tonight, this team has the opportunity to continue their scoring dominance as New Jersey is giving up 3.41 goals per on the road and their penalty kill unit is only stopping opponents 79% of the time. With Toronto having the largest implied total at 4.1 goals, we suggest you lock Matthews in.

Roman Josi (DK: $7000 FD: $7100): The Nashville Predators travel to Edmonton to take on the Oilers tonight in what could be a very high scoring game. It is very rare we Must-Have a defenseman but Roman Josi is not your average defenseman, as his 46 points (14 goals and 32 assists) on the season ranks 18th in the league and 2nd amongst all defenseman. In addition, Josi sees the 3rd most ice time in the league averaging over 25 minutes per night. Josi is a dominant two-way defender who sees tons of time on the Nashville top power play unit. The crazy thing about Roman Josi is that although he seems high priced for a defenseman, he really isn’t. On DraftKings Josi is averaging 15.9 points per game, this is the 3rd highest average of all centers and 2nd of all wingers. However, if Josi was a center he would be priced as the 8th highest center and as a winger he would be 9th. These numbers are very similar on FanDuel as well, so he comes at a great point/$ play on both sites. The Predators have been one of the highest scoring teams in the league this season averaging 3.39 goals per game. Meanwhile, the Oilers have been poor as they’re in the bottom half of the league giving up 3.13 goals per game. Josi isn’t necessarily a scoring threat as he only has 14 goals on the year but Josi’s 158 shots this season is 11th in the entire league and his 75 blocks also ranks in the upper bracket of defenseman. We view Josi as more of a One-Off stud tonight as Edmonton has been specifically poor against defenseman. Over the last 4 weeks, the Oilers are giving up just over 10 shots per game to defenseman and 1.75 assist. Josi should find plenty of shooting space, and we know he isn’t afraid to shoot and tons of open ice for passing. We suggest you lock in Josi tonight as he looks to continue his fantasy dominance.
