Auston Matthews (DK: $8,000 FD: $8,800): The Toronto Maple Leafs will host the Calgary Flames tonight as Matthews looks to continue his scoring tear. Matthews has been red hot with 18 goals in his last 19 games. Where Matthews has been exceptional is on home ice especially. On home ice this season, Matthews has 27 goals in 23 games; the only player in the league averaging more than a goal per game on home ice. What is even harder to believe, is that Matthews has scored a goal in each of his last eight home games. While tonight might seem tougher going up against Calgary who has been playing much better hockey as of late, no one has been able to stop Toronto. Since the Christmas break (nine games), the Leafs are averaging 4.44 goals per game and their power play is converting at 31%. Over that timeframe, the Calgary penalty kill has been subpar, stopping opponents only 75% of the time. With Toronto having an implied total of 3.6 goals tonight, we expect Matthews and company to dominate yet again and suggest you lock him in.

Alex Ovechkin (DK: $7,800 FD: $8,600): The Washington Capitals will host the New Jersey Devils tonight in what should be a high-scoring game. Ovechkin has not slowed in his old age as his 28 goals this season currently ranks 3rd in the league. Ovechkin comes into this game after having a two-goal performance against the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday and should continue the scoring against the Devils porous defense. The Devils have been one of the worst teams this season, giving up 3.46 goals per game. The Devils come into this game having just given up seven goals against Toronto on Tuesday as well. The Devils penalty kill has been slightly below average, 18th in the league, stopping opponents only 79% of the time this season. As one of the greatest power play scorers in history, Ovechkin should find plenty of chances to get on the score sheet. What we really love about Ovechkin on such a large slate is that he has a great floor. Ovechkin currently leads the league with 216 shots on goal this season. With the Capitals having the highest implied total on the slate at 4.25 goals tonight, we suggest you lock the “Great 8” in.
