Sean Monahan (DK: $7500 FD: $7300): The Calgary Flames will host the Los Angeles Kings in what can quickly become a high scoring game for the Flames. Last year the Flames were one of the most dominating teams on home ice averaging 4.03 goals per game. We saw something similar in their home opener against Vancouver, where they managed to come away with a 3-0 win. While Los Angeles has only played one game this season, it was not good. They managed to allow the Edmonton Oilers to score 6 times, in what was the highest scoring game so far this season. With Calgary having a much more power house offense, we could see a similar result tonight. Last year LA ranked 29th on the penalty kill and clearly they did not make many improvements in the offseason allowing two power play goals against Edmonton. Monahan centers the Flames top line and top power play unit, and should see many scoring chances tonight. Already off to a hot start this season having scored 2 goals and adding an assist, he looks to continue this point streak to 3 games. With Calgary having the second largest implied total on the slate at 3.4 goals tonight, we recommend you lock this deadly center in.

Jake Guentzel (DK: $6200 FD: $7300): The Pittsburgh Penguins will host the WInnipeg Jets tonight who have been extremely poor defensively to start the year. So far this season Winnipeg has given up 4 or more goals in all 3 games they have played. One of Winnipeg’s weakest points so far this season has been against opposing left wings. Through only 3 games the Jets have given up 4 goals and 5 assists to opposing left wings. Jake Guentzel plays on the Penguins top line alongside Crosby and on the top power play unit. Winnipeg has managed to allow opponents to score on the power play 40% of the time this season, and the Penguins should be able to take advantage of this. An added benefit to this matchup tonight is that Winnipeg’s already weak defensive core has become weaker. Kulikov was granted personal leave time today, meaning that the Jets now are missing 4 defenseman from last year. On top of that, the second line center Bryan Little was just placed on IR, so Winnipeg will have multiple line changes tonight. With the Jets being so depleted defensively and having to run new lines, Guentzel and company should be able to find plenty of open ice. With the Penguins having the largest implied total at 3.63 goals tonight, we suggest you lock this winger in.
