Auston Matthews (DK: $8,400 FD: $8,600): The Toronto Maple Leafs will host the Tampa Bay Lightning as these two high-power offenses square off in what is a very important game for the Leafs. The Leafs struggled on their California road trip losing three straight, but return home where they are one of the best teams in the league. Toronto is averaging 3.4 goals per game on home ice this season while converting at 23% on the power play. A lot of their success has come from their star, Auston Matthews. In just 33 home games, Matthews has managed to score 31 goals while tallying 17 assists. His 31 goals on home ice are the most in the league, and his 24 at even strength is also the most while being one of just two players to crack 20 even strength goals on home ice. Tampa has been a little shaky over the past week and Vasilevskiy as well lately. Over his last eight starts, Vasileskiy has given up three or more goals six times. One of these games was against Toronto, where Toronto managed to score four times while playing in Tampa. These teams have matched up twice this season and Matthews has had a good showing with a goal and two assists between both meetings. This game is the only game tonight with an implied total of 6.5 goals and the Leafs 3.3 implied total is the 3rd-highest on the slate. Tampa is coming off of a loss against the horrendous Detroit Red Wings and will be missing star defenseman Victor Hedman tonight. We expect goals to be scored in bunches from Toronto and when Toronto is scoring, Matthews is scoring. Although he comes at a high price, go ahead and lock this center in.

Teuvo Teravainen (DK: $5,800 FD: $6,400): The Carolina Hurricanes will take on the Detroit Red Wings tonight in what should be a one-sided game. Detroit is the league’s worst team and although they managed to pull out a win against Tampa on Sunday, Carolina is no easy task. Carolina comes into this game after their own big win, beating Pittsburgh 6-2 on Sunday. Teravainen plays on the team’s top line and top power play unit, averaging roughly 19 minutes a night. Teravainen’s 46 assists lead the team and his 61 points is just two shy of the team leader, Sebastian Aho. Teravainen has taken a new form as of late, as he has started shooting the puck more frequently averaging three shots per game over the last 10 games. Carolina comes into this game with the highest implied total on the slate at 3.8 goals, considering Detroit is giving up 3.7 goals per game this season, Carolina has the ability to hit the four-goal mark tonight. Teravainen lines up at right wing and finds himself in a great spot as this is where Detroit has struggled over the last four weeks. Over the last four weeks Detroit is giving up 1.23 goals per game to RWs, the most in the league. This isn’t very out of the ordinary for them, as over the whole season they’re giving up .79 goals per game to right wings, also the most in the league. With Teravainen shooting more, and playing on the teams top line and power play unit, we suggest you lock him in tonight.
