Quinton Byfield (DK: $2,500 FD: $3,100): We’ve got a massive slate tonight and to start off our lineups we are going with some value. The Los Angeles Kings play the Anaheim Ducks and “QB” has been all the buzz for LA as of late. Byfield was the 2nd pick in this year’s NHL draft and is one of the most coveted prospects in the league. Byfield is playing on LA’s 2nd line and 2nd power play unit and has seen 17+ minutes in both games he has played. Byfield hasn’t recorded a point yet but he’s had some great chances and has ripped 5 shots over his first two games. Byfield will have plenty of opportunities to score tonight on this back-to-back as Ryan Miller tends the twine for Anaheim and he is giving up 3.6 goals per game this season. We love Byfield in cash contest tonight as his salary leaves a ton of room to fit in multiple studs but think he is viable in GPPs as well.

Mikko Rantanen (DK: $7,700 FD: $8,400): The Colorado Avalanche will take on the San Jose Sharks for the 2nd time in as many nights. Josef Korenar will be in net for the Sharks tonight and he has allowed 4 goals in 3 of his 4 starts this season. Mikko Rantanen missed 4 games due to COVID protocol and returned last night like he never missed a beat, scoring a goal while also adding an assist. Rantanen now has 27 goals on the season, the 3rd most in the league, while his 55 points ranks 12th, his 1.25 points/game played ranks 7th this season. The Colorado Avalanche and especially this top line have been one of the best teams/lines in hockey. Since March 1st Rantanen ranks 1st in the league in goals and 5th in points per game while linemate Nathan MacKinnon leads the league in points in that timeframe. Colorado has the highest implied total on the slate at 3.9 goals tonight and we think Rantanen is a great play in all contest formats.
