Kenedy (DK: $6,200): Newcastle and Southampton have had subpar seasons thus far and they both sit near the bottom of the table trying to avoid relegation. This game is very important for each team because only one point separates the two sides and the loser could likely be related to the championship. Newcastle, being the home team, will do everything they can to get all three points to move them away from the relegation zone. Newcastle have are unbeaten in their last five home games (four EPL games, one FA Cup game) and they have scored in each of those games. Kenedy joined Newcastle on loan from Chelsea in the middle of the season, but has had a huge impact on his new team. Kenedy seems to have taken over set piece duty from Ritchie, and with Shelvey likely to miss this match, he could find himself with a monopoly of set pieces. Southampton have allowed 10 goals from set pieces this season (5th-highest) and Newcastle have scored 10 goals from set pieces this season (3rd-highest) which is a nice boost to Kenedy’s ceiling. Southampton have improved on the road recently but have still allowed 20 goals in 13 away games. Kenedy could exceed value without contributing to a goal due to his role on set pieces, and he has shown his upside in the past evident by his performance against Burnley, making him a great play in all formats.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson (DK: $8,500): Burnley have played well this season and currently sit in 7th place, one spot out of a Europa League spot. They have performed so well this season because of how they perform on the road. Burnley’s away form has dipped recently but they still have the 6th-best away record in the league. West Ham are coming off back-to-back 4-1 loses, most recently to Swansea, who are also only three points away from the relegation zone. Gudmundsson has a monopoly of set pieces for Burnley and his shot volume has also increased in recent weeks. Gudmundsson has made 30 crosses in his last two games and has averaged eight crosses a game over the past nine weeks. West Ham have also allowed the third-most goals from set pieces this season which is an extra boost to Gudmundsson’s value. Gudmundsson has one of the safest floors on the slate and could easily exceed value without contributing to a goal making him a great play in all formats.
