John Fleck (DK: $6,800): Sheffield United come in as slight favorites into a Championship derby where they need a win to push themselves into the top four. Surprisingly, it’s the only game on this slate that is favored to go over 2.5 goals; the reverse fixture had a total of six goals, so it’s not out of the question to expect near the same outcome Friday. Fleck was rested for their 1-0 FA Cup victory for this exact game where he plays a pivotal role in their offense as their set-piece taker, and is 2nd on their team in shots per game. At his price, he is our favorite play in this range and position which warrants a Must-Have tag.
Anthony Goncalves (DK: $3,800): The French Ligue has been off since December 20th, so both these teams may be rusty, which could explain why this game isn’t favored to go over 2.5 goals. Strasbourg have had an average season so far, but their main guy is a doubt for this game, opening up an opportunity for Goncalves. He’s that player that can step up fantasy-wise as he is given responsibility of set-pieces when Lienard, their main guy, has been away from the game this season. Goncalves offers a very good floor considering his price, and is a no-brainer for your 2nd midfield slot. These are two teams who are fairly evenly matched (both are in the middle of the standings), so we can expect a close chess match between the two. With all that said, we aren’t expecting this game to be great fantasy-wise, but after researching this slate, Goncalves with maybe 1 or 2 more plays warrant attention.
