Pedro Leon (DK $8,300): The Eibar midfielder has earned a spot as one of our Must-Haves for this slate. First of all, without Real Madrid or Barcelona in action, it finally makes sense to pay up for Leon without losing opportunity-cost to the prolific, high-scoring offensive players from the Spanish giants. Secondly, Leon is in a prime match-up this week facing a Deportivo La Coruna side that is yet to win an away match in La Liga this season. Eibar have been on a poor home run recently, however they have played Atletico Madrid twice and Barcelona during their recent stretch without a win. Pedro Leon is the engine for Eibar and should excel in this match-up. Eibar lead La Liga in crosses (473) and that is mainly due to Leon. La Coruna have allowed the third-most crosses in La Liga (416), so this is a perfect situation to target Leon. In home matches this season, the midfielder has averaged 3.2 shots, 1.3 tackles, 1.6 interceptions, and over 10 crosses per match. Leon has scored six goals so far this season, with four of those goals finding the back of the net at home. Leon has scored over 10 DK points in every home match this season except for one and he has exceeded 20 DK points at home twice. He has only finished under 12 DK points in two of his past ten matches, while exceeding 15 DK points in six of those matches. Eibar played midweek, but Leon was only used as a late substitute. He should be fresh going into this very favorable match-up. Plug Leon into your lineups, as we feel very confident in Leon’s ability to put up a great fantasy performance.
Iago Aspas (DK $8,800): Over the past several months, Iago Aspas has been one of the hottest strikers in La Liga. He has scored 11 goals on the season, which is fourth-best in La Liga and trails only Messi, Suarez, and Ronaldo. He has also provided his teammates with four assists so far this season. After a few down weeks, Aspas should be due for a reprisal against a weak Leganes side. Leganes are currently sitting one spot out of the relegation zone and have only won once at home this season. Prior to the last two La Liga matches, Aspas scored over 20 DK points in seven out of his prior ten matches in all competitions. He averages 2.3 shots and has scored 5 goals in La Liga away matches this season. Aspas has three multi-goal performances this season and two of them occurred away from home. He also averages 2.3 fouls drawn per match and is the primary penalty-taker for Celta Vigo. Aspas is the focal point of the offense and has scored in four consecutive away matches in all competitions when he has been included in the starting 11. That type of potential is hard to match and difficult to ignore on a slate lacking La Liga’s other top goal-scorers, which makes Aspas a Must-Have player for your lineups.
