PGA | Weather Spotlight | Genesis Open

We continue the California swing with a stop at famed Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades. While the weather the last few days hasn’t been ideal, with off and on showers during the practice rounds, the weather looks like it will turn for the better by the start of the tournament. Sunshine and comfortable temperatures are in store for the golfers this week. But, we’ll deal with a little wind during the first two rounds. Let’s break down the forecast.

ThursdayWe start the tournament with fairly benign conditions. Morning tee times will feel temperatures in the mid and upper 50s with very light winds. Wind will start to pick up for the afternoon, blowing at 4-7 mph, so very manageable. Temperatures will rise to the low and mid 60s for the afternoon as well.
FridayThis is when we see the wind start to pick up a bit. We’ll see winds blow on the order of 5-10 mph, with higher gusts at times. This will be a wind that develops for the morning, so both sets of tee times will deal with a little bit more wind than on Friday. Temperatures in the morning will be in the mid to upper 50s with afternoon temps rising to the upper 60s and low 70s.
Saturday-SundayA little bit of wind will persist for the weekend as well, with some occasional wind gusts. Both weekend days will feature wind blowing at 5-10 mph with the occasional gust to 15 mph or so. Temperatures will rise to the low 70s Saturday and upper 60s Sunday.
